Cyber crime rate reaches new high, you can loose all your money to cyber crime

Cybersecurity is a term which is very crucial in today’s world. Cybersecurity is basically a term referred to a set of techniques or methods used to protect the integrity of computer networks, programs and user data from attack or damage from unauthorized access.

According to recent statistics, the global cyber security market can reach a target of $170 billion by the year 2020. The main cause of this rise in marketing is the latest techniques introduced by different companies to protect our personal data from leaking. Some of these technologies include “bring your own device” and the trending topic “internet of things (IoT)”. People now use cloud-based computing systems to protect their personal devices from getting affected by any malware or unauthorized attacks.

In the year 2013, the BBC news has reported about a cyber-crime taking place in Belgium. The attack was placed on an ANTWERP Shipping port which had been supposed to be taking place over a two-year period from June 2011.

As per the reports, a Dutch-based trafficking group hid cocaine and heroin among the cargoes, including timber and bananas shipped in containers from South America. The crime group purportedly used hackers to access the information and infiltrate computer networks in at least two companies operating in the port of Antwerp. This attack on the cyber networks allowed the hackers to breach through the security walls and gave them access to the secured data and brought them in a safe position from where they could steal the locations and security details of the containers which means giving the traffickers a much more easy way to access the lorries and steal the cargoes before the actual owner arrived.

How can we prevent cyber-crime and provide a better cybersecurity?

Modern cyberattacks have become heavily automated. If organizations try to defend against these attacks manually, the fight becomes man versus machine, with highly unfavorable odds for the organization. To successfully protect against automated attacks, it is essential to fight fire with fire – or in this case, the machine with the machine – by incorporating automation into cybersecurity efforts.
