French President, Emmanuel Macron, arrives in India, strengthening the bilateral relations.

Macron is on a four-day visit to India and is accompanied by his wife Brigitte Marie-Claude and senior cabinet ministers.

In 2018, Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi made prime ministerial trips to Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Amman etc. Now it is his turn to welcome a dignitary in India. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron arrived in India on Friday. PM Modi, the enthusiast that he is, broke the protocol and received him personally at the airport in West Delhi. Macron is on a four-day visit to India and is accompanied by his wife Brigitte Marie-Claude and senior cabinet ministers. President Macron's visit is aimed at strengthening the bilateral economic and political relations between the countries.

In a short speech was given by President Macron. He specified the aims of his visit. India was France's first ally and thus they could enter in the Indo-Pacific region. They aim to make France as India's gateway to Europe. His second aim is to reduce climate change and is looking to inaugurate the International Solar Alliance.

 

Macron then met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at Alliance Francaise in the morning. They discussed on India-France strategic partnership. Macron will inaugurate the Solar Power plant in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.

1) By PM  Modi.
He first gave his thanks to Macron for giving him the opportunity to welcome him to India. He said that this is not a meeting of two ministers, but of two civilization s. He let everyone know that they made two agreements. One was to know each other's education and regions. The other one was about migration and mobility partnership.

2)By Emmanuel Macron 
He said that France and India have agreed on an alliance of counter-terrorism and cybersecurity. Not only this, they decided to collaborate armed forces and military bases. He said, "There are at least 50 contracts that are being signed between India and France on climate, railways, electric mobility, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, nuclear technology, etc. We look forward to investing in India's future.".

Today, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Marie-Claude Macron will visit Agra, where the President and the First Lady will get a private tour of the Taj Mahal. Then he will attend a knowledge summit, where he will meet and interact with innovators and thinkers to get an idea of the new generation of Indians who are shaping a New India. Macron will inaugurate the International Solar Alliance. The ISA is a flagship Indian initiative launched by PM Modi and the French president on the sidelines of the Paris climate conference in 2015. This meeting will be of great significance against the backdrop of the United States, under President Trump, pulling out of the Paris accord. 

 

Tomorrow, President Macron will visit Varanasi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Macron will take a special cruise on the Ganga, which will include a meeting over lunch. The two leaders will have a one-on-one discussion. President Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, where they will inaugurate a 100 MW solar power plant - the largest in UP. Then, President Macron will conclude his four-day visit to India.
