Here's more about the new visible changes coming to the search bar.
What changes is Google bringing to search bar?
Google is planning to bring a considerable visual change to its search bar for smartphone users. The search giant is spotted testing the new user interface and the biggest change in it will be the inclusion of a round search bar. In addition to this, the mobile site is seen without any address bar on top, giving a bit more screen space to let users see more results. As spotted by Android Police, the area left by the address bar is utilised by the Google Doodle for that day. As for the address bar, it comes down at the bottom, making it really easy for users to type the required url.
The new visible changes coming to the Google search bar. Google is reshaping its search bar for its mobile site and it will now appear more rounded, much like the search bar on the Pixel launcher.
Amongst other changes, we will see a colorful 'G' logo on the left and the search icon will no longer be highlighted in a blue square.Further, the category options below the search bar, will not be boxed.
Google has not yet mentioned when it will be rolling out the revamped search bar in the mobile site. But for all we know, the company is bringing it in sync with the search bar seen in the launcher. Google may make a wider roll out in the coming days or at the time of Google IO 2018 developer’s conference.
For better accessibility
A redesigned and repositioned Address bar
Interestingly, Google is also testing a new rounded address bar which will be placed on the bottom of the screen. The position of the address bar is likely to offer easy accessibility to users with taller-screen smartphones.
The new redesigned search and address bars and other changes do seem to align with the rounded design elements of Android P.
The search company in December last year made it easier for Indian users to get authentic search results. The search giant has made some changes on its end so that users get ‘timely updates’ from original sources. Users will also see images, gifs and other content directly from the person or the organisation.
older version vs newer version
Google mentioned that those users or organisations with a sizeable presence on Google Search in the field of entertainment, sports, and culture can get verified and start posting on Google. “So now, when you search for the Indian Super League or Tiger Zinda Hai, you’ll see verified updates directly from them, right in the collection of cards you see in a search result (the Knowledge Panel.) In addition to the description, news articles, tweets and links you’re used to seeing in Google Search, you’ll now also see images, videos, GIFs, events, polls posted directly by the person or organization you’re searching for.
