Being the first phone of it’s kind, iPhones have always established a benchmark with the release of every new model. Here are some specifications that make iPhones worth buying.

1)      Apple A9:

Apple never reveals much about its internal components used in an iPhone. But here is a list of everything that Apple mentioned in its press release.

The processor used in Apple iPhone is Apple A9 which is a  64-bit ARMbased system-on-chip (SoC) which is designed by Apple Inc. Itself. Apple didn’t disclose the type of processor and other internal components used in initial models of iPhones original iPhone, the iPhone 3G, or the iPhone 3GS, stating that- the model is a closed platform.

a.        In iPhone4, Apple used its own A4 processor with unspecified clock speed. For iPhone 4S, Apple used a  "dual-core" A5 processor of unspecified speed and didn’t mention anything regarding internal components. The iPhone 5 has

"blazing fast A6 chip," Apple stated.

b.       For the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s, Apple revealed a  "blazingly fast performance of the A6 chip" and an all-new 64-bit "A7 chip" as well as a new "M7 motion coprocessor," respectively for both the devices.

c.        For the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple's said that the devices have an "Apple-designed A8 chip with second generation 64-bit desktop-class architecture for blazing fast performance and power efficiency".

d.       For the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and also iPhone SE,

Apple's promises that these models have "Apple’s third-generation 64bit" A9 processor that is "70 percent faster" than the A8 processor before it.

e.       For the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple states that these devices use an A10 Fusion chip. Specifically, they have "four cores, seamlessly integrating two high-performance cores that run up to two times faster than iPhone 6, and two high-efficiency cores that are capable of running at just one-fifth the power of the high-performance cores."

f.         For the newly launched, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, Apple's said that these devices have an A11 Bionic processor. Specifically, they have a "six-core CPU design with two performance cores that are 25 percent faster and four efficiency cores that are 70 percent faster" than the A10 Fusion chip before it.

2)      Camera Quality:

a.        Camera’s of iPhone’s tend to get more light into the lens by enlarging the sensor from 1/ 3.2 to 1/ 3, which in turn leads to an increase in the size of the pixels from 1.4 microns to 1.5 microns. Overall the camera performs well. Colours are accurate and there is enough detail, There is no optical image stabilization because iPhone uses software stabilization to compensate somewhat for shaky hands.

b.       Shutter speed it fast enough, user’s can take 10 shots per second ad infinitum.

c.        True Tone Flash, The idea of using a larger sensor, Apple has added a second, amber colored, LED flash to the iPhone to use in dark. It improves on the harsh tones and inaccurate color reproduction of skin tones caused by white-LED or Xenon flashes.

d.       The iPhone 6 powers a super Slo-mo –  shot at 240FPS 720p to make action scenes look even cooler

e.       In iPhone6 press the time-lapse button and it starts taking snaps at selected intervals.

f.         While Video calling broken record is a problem but the front-facing camera is a1.2-megapixel but this time comes with a f/2.2 aperture, which allows loads more light in. It means that FaceTime or Skype calls look decent even in low light and better selfies in dingy pubs.

3)      Vibrant Colours:

a.        The silver, gold, rose gold, and (Product) RED iPhones have white faceplates. That means when the display is lit up, especially for the standard iOS interfaces and for reading on the web, in ebooks, or in messaging apps, there's no dark border framing everything you do.

b.       Apple iPhone 7 is available in five colors. Jet Black, Matte Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver. Now Red iPhones also available.

c.        iPhone X is available in Silver or Space Gray.

  4)  Design and Display:

a.       The new iPhone features a larger touch-screen, now 5.8 inches, which adopts a Samsung’s OLED display. All front physical buttons have been removed and, apart from a thin rounded bezel made of stainless steel, the front of the iPhone X coincides with its enormous display.

b.       Apple equipped the iPhone X, and its iOS 11 operating system, with a number of eye-catching features including facial recognition, an updated 3D touch, interactively animated emoji called Animoji.

5)      Better battery life

a.       The iPhone 5s claims to offer up to 10 hours of talk time on 3G and standby time of 250 hours. In contrast, the iPhone 5 claims to deliver 8 hours of talk time on 3G and standby time of 225 hours.

b.       In iPhones, the users can control the battery consumption and alter the iPhone’s performance. The specific function is offered by iOS 11.3 beta, this is something which Android should offer but it can never do so.

6)      Faster Updates:

Apple updates it’s iOS faster than Android because there is no other way to alter its configuration and all the malware which are to be debugged are easily fixed.

7)      Premium apps:

Apple will also offer its premium iWork and iLife apps including Pages, Keynote, Number, iLife, and iMovie, free to customers who buy the new iPhone 5s.

8)      Security:

According to a report in 2014 by Pulse Secure mobiles, 97% of threats of viruses and malicious spyware target Android smartphones instead of iPhones. This is because Android is an open source which allows more freedom to change the operating system as a whole and it becomes difficult to fix the issues. As a result, a simple message can also infect Android Phones.
