Types of Flanges

1.      Spectacle Flanges

2.      Blind Flanges

3.      Slip on Flanges

4.      Ring Joint Flanges

5.      Orifice Flanges

6.      Industrial Flanges

7.      Socket Weld Flanges

8.      Threaded Flanges

9.      Reducing Flanges

1.     Spectacle Flanges

Blind flanges are similar to Spectacle blind flanges, but they vary in that they match between two flanges. The name Spectacle Blind comes from their resemblance to a pair of eyeglasses. When one end of the Spectacle Blind Flange is completely closed for full flow, the other end remains open for full flow.

2.     Blind Flanges

As seen below, a blind flange is a solid flange. These are used to cover a segment of pipe or a nozzle on a vessel that isn't in use. For these blinds, the best practice is to use a regular gasket. Blind flanges can be lifted face (RF) or flat faced, much like ordinary pipe flanges (FF). If the flange is RF, a regular ring gasket suitable for operation and/or testing should be used.

3.     Slip on Flanges

So, slip on flange is a type of slip-on flange. It's a kind of flange that slips over the pipe and has a slightly larger internal design than the pipe. The SO flange can be directly attached to machinery or tubing by fillet welding at the top and bottom of the flange since the inner diameter of the flange is significantly greater than the outer diameter of the pipe.

4.     Ring Joint Flanges

A Ring Style Joint Flange is a type of flange that seals the flange pair with a metal ring that sits in a hexagonal groove. When the bolts are tightened and the gasket is squeezed into the groove, the flanges close, forming a metal-to-metal seal. The groove is normally machined into the face of an RTJ flange, which has a raised face.

5.     Orifice Flanges

The flow of the fluid transmitted by the pipeline is determined by an orifice flange by a flow nozzle located on the flange itself. The orifice flange is machined with pairs of pressure tapping’s, eliminating the need for separate tapping’s on the pipe surface. A pair of flanges, an orifice plate, bolts, nuts, gaskets, jacking pins, and plugs make up the standard orifice flange assembly. The primary flow factor is easily removed thanks to jacking screws.

6.     Industrial Flanges

Welded Flanges, Blind Flanges, and Weld Neck Flanges are among the Industrial Flanges that our business has developed experience in manufacturing and supplying. Thanks to their multifunctional output capability, these flanges are commonly used in a variety of industries. These have excellent technical standards and are produced by highly skilled professionals.

7.     Socket weld Flanges

Metalica Forging Inc is Smaller diameter high-pressure pipes are normally fitted with socket-weld valve flanges. Inserting the pipe into the socket end and adding fillet weld over the surface is how these pipe flanges are connected. This results in a smooth bore and improved fluid or gas flow within the tubing.

8.     Threaded Flanges

Threaded flanges, threaded pipe flanges, and stainless-steel threaded flanges are among our most popular products. These specific flanges are commonly used in high-pressure, small-diameter applications. The ability to assemble these flanges without welding is their defining characteristic.

9.     Reducing Flanges

A reducing flange is a flange of a single diameter that has a narrower bore and diameter. It is used in piping systems to adjust the diameters. JF Engineering offers ANSI/ASME B16.5 Reducing Flanges in a variety of grades, fabrics, sizes, and configurations.
