Stephen Hawking passed away on 14th of March. It is a big loss for the field of physics. We are aware of his achievements and research work. (They are mind-boggling.) But there are some unknown and interesting facts about Stephen Hawking. They are listed below.

1) The coincidence of his birth and death.

This is going to sound a bit weird to some. But  Stephen was born on the same date Galileo died i.e  8 January.(Of course not in the same year. But after 300 years). Newton was born on the same date Stephen died. (14th March). Not only this, all the three great minds died at the age 76. I don't know whether this was just a coincidence or something else.

2) He divorced his wife after 30 years of marriage. Look here why?

Jane, Stephen's first wife in an interview said that there were four things in their marriage. Stephen, Jane, neuron motor disease and Physics. She said that ALS was not an issue for her, Physics was. Along with that, the carers of Stephen, who lived in their house, created a major disruption in their lives. So that triggered their divorce.

3) He was the first quadriplegic to float in zero gravity.

To popularize space travel, Stephen experienced zero gravity on a modified plane 'vomit comet' a simulator for zero gravity in 2007. Not only this, Stephen cracked a joke when he was asked about who would take care of the finance. He said 'Maybe Richard Branson would help me.' No one imagined that his joke would be taken seriously. Richard Branson, in fact, did help. He covered all the cost and made Stephen's float in the zero gravity a success.

4 )Why he spoke in an American accent??

Stephen was born in Oxford, England. But instead of a British accent, he had an American accent. (If you haven't noticed it then listen to his interviews.) His accent was American due to the voice synthesizer he used in order to communicate. It was developed in 1986, but Stephen never changed it because he never got anything better than that. Eventually, this voice became a personality trait.

5) He appeared in many TV series.

Yes, this is true. He appeared in The Simpsons and the Big Bang Theory. Not only this his hologram appeared in Star Trek. He was a part of a comedy series Red Dwarf and an animated show Futurama.
