Introduction to Slip on Flanges

Slip On flanges or SO flanges are generally lower in price than weld-neck flanges, & to this effect are a popular choice for the customers. It is welded both inside & out to provide enough strength & prevent leakage. As made obvious by their name, this flange slip over the pipe. There are many stainless steel slip on flanges dealers in India. These flanges are manufactured with an inside diameter that is little bigger than the pipe's outside diameter. These attachments are connected to the pipe through fillet weld at the top & bottom of the flange.

However, customers should keep in mind that this initial cost saving may be diminished by the additional cost of the 2 fillet welds required for proper installation. But, weld-neck flanges have a greater life expectancy than slip-on flanges under duress. India is one of the leading stainless steel slip on flanges suppliers worldwide.

Slip-on flanges are all bored slightly bigger than the O.D. of the pipe. These flanges are preferred over welding neck flanges but many uses due to their lower cost, but final installation cost is probably not much less than that of the welding neck flange because additional welding is required.

Advantages of slip on flanges:

·         Low cost installation

·         Less time required to spend on ensuring the accuracy of the cut pipe

·         They are somewhat easier to align

·         The slip-on flanges have low hub because the pipe slips into the flange before welding

·         The flange is welded both inside & outside to give enough strength

·         They prevent leakage

Standards, Dimensions & Weight

Slip-on flange is slipped over the pipe & then fillet welded. Slip-on flanges are simple to use in fabricated applications.
